Basic Needs (8:30 AM to 11 AM)

Do you enjoy creating a friendly, clean space?  Are you good at helping people feel comfortable?

As a Basic Needs volunteer, you will help people take care of their most basic needs by managing the flow of our laundry or shower services.

Some of the key responsibilities for volunteers in the laundry and shower services include:

• Communicate with staff to manage appropriate entry to this area
• Greet guests warmly
• Use wipe boards to mark laundry machines and showers in use
• Provide complimentary supplies (towels, toiletries, detergent, fabric softener, etc.)
• Communicate supply needs to staff
• Clean routinely following Oak City Cares protocols
• Work with a team of staff and volunteers to manage a steady flow of services
