Who We Are

Our Weekend Meals grew out of our original service coordinating volunteer meal providers as Oak City Outreach Center located adjacent to Moore's Square. Together with over 80 groups, hundreds of volunteers, and our guests experiencing homelessness and food insecurity, we advocated to become a multi-services center for people experiencing homelessness.

In 2019, we opened the doors of our new facility located in downtown Raleigh at 1430 S Wilmington Street. We are truly the community's center and are a welcoming place for people experiencing homelessness to share food and build relationships.

Over the last 5 years, with the help of so many generous groups and individuals, we've served over 250,000 meals!

What We Do

Each weekend, through the generosity of volunteers, we provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner to our guests. Together, every Saturday and Sunday, and most holidays too, we get to know, serve, and provide deep hospitality to several hundred of our friends in need.

There are two volunteer roles: Meal Providers, who prepare meals ahead of time and help serve them to our guests, and Weekend Volunteers who help provide general hospitality to our guests, and who may also help serve food.

If you are looking for a place to be part of a welcoming community of service, check out our weekend opportunities to volunteer!
